The model and the NFL quarterback with 6 Super Bowls to his name, met in late 2006. This picture-perfect couple started on a simple blind date; though Brady was in a relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan; he and Gisele felt a strong connection. The pair met at West Village wine bar Turk & Frogs in 2006, and the model later reported that it was love at first sight for her.
In an interview, she mentioned that Brady had the most beautiful and charismatic smile she had ever seen and that the future couple sat down and talked for 3 hours until Gisele had to go back home for Christmas. Shortly after that meeting, Brady broke up with Moynahan and the two officially started dating.
Things soon got complicated for the new couple when, in February 2007, Moynahan announced her pregnancy with Brady’s child. The news almost forced the model to end her relationship with the football star. She later mentioned in a CBS morning interview that she often found herself questioning her position in her relationship and felt like running away.
Family and marriage
On August 22, 2007, Tom’s child, with ex-Moynahan was born, a son named John “Jack” Edward Thomas Moynahan. In Gisele’s 2018 memoir, the model revealed she calls Tom’s son her “bonus child,” saying that Jack expanded her heart in ways she found indescribable. Furthermore, Jack brought out the part of Brady that Gisele cherishes and made her love him even more than before. Their relationship grew stronger, and it probably wouldn’t have been if it wasn’t for Jack.
Two years into their relationship, Tom finally proposed to Gisele by making up a story about her flooded apartments and Brady fixing it. When Gisele got to her apartment, she found her home decorated with candles and rose petals with Brady down on his knee with a ring in one hand. They got married in 2009 in a private ceremony in Santa Monica, California.
The entire wedding was planned in 10 days and was an intimate occasion with steak, champagne and cake on the menu. They celebrated another marriage ceremony with their extended friends and family. Brady and Bündchen share two children, a 12-year-old son Benjamin, and a nine-year-old daughter, Vivian.
Roles in marriage
In February, after 20 seasons with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady announced his NFL retirement, only to reveal his plan to return six weeks later. Ahead of his brief sports hiatus, the seven-time Super Bowl winner praised his wife for holding “down the house for a long time” during his career.
In a recent interview, Gisele shared that she was happy to play the role of mom, so long as her husband Tom Brady, trusts her decisions, she says. The 41-year-old supermodel’s priorities changed when she became a mother to her now-12-year-old son, Benjamin and her 9-year-old daughter Vivian.
Once the highest-paid model, Bündchen told British Vogue in a new interview that nowadays, she’s happy to put her focus on her children. She added that she and her football player husband’s roles in their marriage are complementary.
