Here’s A Sneak Peek Into The Life Of Digital Nomads

You might have noticed an increase in the number of people that are ditching their 9 to 5 jobs, packing up their homes, and hitting the road. Yes, many people are now documenting their journey through YouTube and/or TikTok, but what triggered the comeback of the nomad lifestyle? And what is the difference between nomads of the past and nomads of today? These are questions one might ask, and you just might get the answer to them.

However, you need to know when this nomad trend made a comeback; it is estimated that the trend picked up during the highest peaks of the COVID-19 pandemic when people were being forced to stay indoors, work from home, and banned from traveling. This is when young adults and couples started ditching the city’s hustle and bustle for a life full of adventure, exploration, and nomadic lifestyle.

Who And What Are Digital Nomads?

The only difference between nomads and digital nomads is that the latter actually know where they are going. Digital nomads are location-independent and well-equipped with technology that helps them fund their lifestyles by picking up remote jobs. They take up either part-time or full-time jobs while living in their vehicles or buses-turned-mobile-homes and travel. It is like getting the best of both worlds while regular people only get the chance to go on a vacation once a year. Digital nomads live the life of the party.

Remote Work Is The New Normal

According to a study, it is estimated that 35.7 million Americans will be remote workers by 2025, which means around 22% of the American workforce will be jumping into the world of travel and fun. Because of the pandemic, people were introduced to remote working or working from home. Most people work from home as a great way to boost their productivity while in their comfort zone surrounded by their loved ones. Others got a chance to pursue a hobby that they were not able to due to their busy schedules. This paved the way for the digital nomadic lifestyle to become one of the most common trends in the United States of America.

Want To Work But From Home

A Qualtrics report indicates that now 80% of the people who are actively seeking jobs are looking for employers who are willing to provide jobs that allow them to live anywhere and surprisingly, employers are listening. They understand that the world you see today is the new normal and if productivity is not being disturbed, then they have nothing to worry about. This opportunity also allows employers to hire people from across borders. For example, if you are in Sweden and looking to hire a data analyst then you can hire someone from Italy and your workflow will go on without any obstacles.
